Mission Statement and Goals


The Access Services Department connects University Libraries’ patrons with library collections, spaces, and technology. The department provides Circulation, Interlibrary Loan, Desktop and Campus Delivery, Reserves, Instructional Films and Technology services, as well as the Stacks and Remote Storage services required for the maintenance of the Libraries’ book, periodical and other media collections.


  • Provide timely, quality customer service to all library users
  • Ensure that library collections remain accessible to all library users
  • Maintain friendly, helpful, public contact points for all library users
  • Work with University faculty to deliver quality course Reserve materials and Instructional Films
  • Maintain lending policies and practices that support the needs of all library users
  • Assist library users with locating, borrowing, requesting, and returning library materials
  • Provide library users with safe and inviting spaces for research, reflection, collaboration, and relaxation
