What is ILL?

One of the many University Libraries delivery services. When needed research materials are unavailable at UNCG, students, staff, and faculty members may request them through Interlibrary Loan (ILL). Interlibrary Loan makes it possible for researchers to obtain books and electronic copies of articles from libraries around the world. Please note: ILL does not typically borrow textbooks. Our office is located in the far corner of the Jackson Library Reading Room. Phone: 336-334-5849. Fax: 336-334-5097

Who can order?

All students, staff, and faculty members can use Interlibrary Loan.

Place an I.L.L. Request

How do I order?

Simply go to Jackson Library's home page http://library.uncg.edu and click on "ILL Request Forms." Login to our ILL software (ILLiad) with your Novel login/password. Click on either Request a journal article, Request a loan, or Request a book chapter and follow the instructions filling out the form.

How do I get my order?

When your book comes in, an e-mail will be sent to you to notify you of its arrival. You can also log into ILLiad to check on the status of your request. When available, student, faculty, and staff members in the School of Music, may pick up and return them at the Checkout Desk in the Harold Schiffman Music Library. Otherwise, they may be picked up and returned at the Checkout Desk in Jackson Library. Please do not return ILL items in the book drops. Electronic copies of requests will be emailed to you directly.

What is Desktop Delivery?

Non-circulating print items held in the library can be scanned by library staff and delivered to you electronically. Microfiche and microfilm scanning requests are limited to 25 pages. Print requests are limited to 100 pages. This document delivery service is for graduate students and faculty only, and the option is listed in the menu in ILLiad. Desktop Delivery provides basic, black-and-white scanned documents. For hi-resolution or color scans, please contact Lynda Kellam, Data Services and Government Information Librarian to make an appointment.
