Group Study Spaces in Jackson Library

With Library Provided Computing Technology

The Libraries provide several options for technology-assisted group work and collaboration:
  • First Floor, across from the Check-Out Desk
  • The Information Commons contains two areas for up to 7 people with a PC, a large plasma display, a white board and wireless access for laptops. Three areas for up to 4 people with a PC, a monitor or wireless access for laptops. First come, first served with priority to groups.
  • Tower, 2nd floor
  • Two large rooms for up to 12 people with a podium for presentation practice, a PC, a large plasma screen, wireless access for laptops and a white board. More information.
  • Tower, 2-8 floors
  • 1 small room opposite elevators on each floor for up to 4 people with a PC, plasma screen. Ability to switch laptops to display their screen to group. More information.
  • Lower-Level
  • Several workstations/rooms in the DMC are also available for group study.
  • Software available on most computers.

Group Study Spaces without Library Provided Computing Technology

  • Tower Floors 2-5 are designated as group study floors. (Tower 6-9 are designated as quiet floors.)
  • Magid Jewish Studies Room (974) provides an attractive study and group collaborative space. It is occasionally used for meetings. The schedule is posted just outside the door.
  • First Floor, Reference and Reading Rooms.
