UNCG alumni are welcome to visit the University Libraries, where they may access hundreds of databases and thousands of ejournals, use our enormous book collection, search the online catalog, or utilize our "Ask a Librarian" service. Many of these services are also available to our alumni via the web.
Alumni visitors to the UNCG Libraries are welcome to use nearly all of our three hundred databases and sixty-two thousand ejournals. If you have specific questions about which resources are available to visitors, please ask a librarian. Alumni who are NC residents can access dozens of databases for free from home via NC LIVE, including many of the databases to which the UNCG Libraries subscribe. To obtain a free NC LIVE remote access password, please contact your local NC public library.
Library Borrowing Privileges for Alumni
UNCG alumni are automatically granted borrowing privileges when they join the Friends of the Library at an annual cost of $25. Most materials can be checked out for 30 days and are renewable online.
The University Archives contain UNCG yearbooks, the Carolinan, and many, many other publications and artifacts relating to the University's history.
The Libraries host many movies, lectures, book discussions, and exhibits. Some are free and open to the public, while others require the purchase of a ticket. See the event schedule for more details.
