Rabbi Avi Magid Jewish Studies Room

The Magid Jewish Studies Room was dedicated in November 2007. It houses 1,300 volumes, collected over 40 years, from Rabbi Magid's personal library that he generously donated to the University Libraries. The collection includes important books in Judaica and greatly enhances and supports the University's Judaica studies. All materials in the Jewish Studies Room circulate.

The room also provides an attractive study and group collaborative space. Wireless is available. Reserve this space.

Rabbi Magid is a native of Greensboro, NC. He received his BA from the University of Virginia and the MA from Hebrew Union College where he was ordained into the Reform Rabbinate. He also holds the PhD from the University of Hawaii-Manoa. He served congregations in San Francisco, CA, White Plains, NY, and Honolulu, HI, and currently resides in Los Angeles.
