Technology Checkout
Various technology equipment to support student success is available in Jackson Library for UNCG students, faculty, and staff to check out. Below are brief descriptions of this equipment with the location of the desk from which it can be borrowed. Any equipment borrowed must be returned to the lending desk from which it was obtained.
Laptop checkout is provided by the 6-TECH Walk-in Service Center, Monday-Friday. The Walk-in Service Center is located in room 131C on the first floor of Jackson Library. For more information, visit their laptop loaner program page, call 336.256.TECH, or visit the 6-TECH Walk-In Service Center.
Graphing, scientific, and financial calculators, portable DVD players, Multi USB 3-in-1 charging cables (Lightning, Micro USB, and Type-C), headsets, microphone headsets, power strips, and memory card readers are loaned at the Checkout Desk located on the first floor of Jackson Library.
- Completion of the online Technology Lending Agreement is required to borrow this equipment.
- Equipment is loaned for 4 hours for use in and outside of the library and may be borrowed for overnight use 2 hours before the library closes and due back 2 hours after the library reopens.
- The overdue fine rate for this equipment is $1 for the first hour or portion thereof and .50 for each additional hour or portion thereof with no grace period.
- Equipment can be renewed 1 time in person, if another of the same type is available.
Camcorders, cameras, tripods, voice recorders, webcams, related accessories, and more are available in the Digital Media Commons located in the lower level of Jackson Library.
- Completion of the online Technology Lending Agreement is required to borrow this equipment.
- Equipment loaned for 7 days has an overdue fine rate of $5 per day; the hourly loan fine rate is $1 for the first hour overdue and .50 for each additional hour overdue; no grace period on either.
- 7 Day Loan items from the DMC are due 30 minutes before the DMC closes on the stated due date; please be sure that you know the due date and time of equipment borrowed as the DMC closes earlier than the Checkout Desk.
