All of the petitioners as well as the late George Deslonde are free people of color. The petitioners inform the court that George died on 7 July 1854, leaving property consisting of “land, slaves, & moveables.” They pray “that an inventory and appraisal be duly made of the property belonging to the succession” as well as of the community property belonging to Eloise and George.
