Polly Stratton, the widow of Tandy Stratton, claims that the heirs of her late husband's estate, but most especially Solomon Stratton "refuses to assign your oratrix her dower or permit the same to be assigned or to allow your oratrix to have the possession of the same." She asks the court to assign a commissioner to set aside her dower share and to decree that Solomon Stratton pay to her one-third of the proceeds of the hire of the slaves since he took them into possession.
