Virtual programming and presentations, such as webcasts or webinars, are becoming more and more common in education and the workforce. But how many webinars have you been to that don’t keep you engaged and leave you scrolling in the background? Graduate students need to be able to present their work and research digitally, as well as communicate information effectively and quickly within the virtual programming tool.
The UNCG Graduate School and University Libraries will have their sixth “Webinars Worth Watching” (WWW) competition for face-to-face AND online graduate students to determine who can give the most effective webinar or virtual presentation in 10 minutes. Over the course of one week, the competition will run virtual webinar sessions of multiple students in each session, with a winner in each session or a total number of winners based on a rubric. At the end of the week, we will have one virtual session of students and declare a winner. There are cash prizes for the winner and second place participants, as well as a People’s Choice.
Prizes are first place ($300), second place ($200), and People’s Choice ($100).

*This does not need to be research for a thesis or dissertation; it can be any form of original graduate student research!
Graduate students can sign up by Friday, January 23, 2026. Optional virtual training on conducting effective webinars will be offered on February 2-3, 2026. The competition will run the last week of February 16-20, with the finals landing on: Friday, February 20, 2026.
