Streaming Media
UNCG students, faculty, and staff have access to 1000s of streaming films and other digital media. See our Streaming Media LibGuide for details.
Instructional DVDs
Instructional DVDs are available for use by UNCG Faculty and Graduate Teaching Assistants for classroom instruction, and for use by all others only inside the Library. The collection is in a closed location – borrowers may ask for Instructional films at the Checkout Desk, first floor, Jackson Library. Faculty and Graduate Teaching Assistants can request to book and have films delivered to their UNCG departmental offices via campus mail using the Booking and Delivery Request Form, by emailing [email protected], or by contacting Amy Smith (Monday – Friday 8 am – 4 pm) at 336.256.1199.
Borrowing Information
- Faculty and Graduate Teaching Assistants:
Limit: 5 instructional films may be borrowed at a time
Loan Period: 7 Days - All others:
Limit: 1 instructional film at a time
Loan Period: 4 Hours building use only
Related services:
- Faculty and Graduate Teaching Assistants may place DVDs on Reserve for students to view.
- Search the collection through the Online Catalog.
- Request that we purchase an Instructional film.
Multimedia Equipment
The University Libraries provides the following equipment to support our patrons’ multimedia needs.
- Scanning in Jackson Library and the Schiffman Music Library.
- VHS Viewing and Listening Stations in Jackson Library (Tower rooms 763 and 764) and in Schiffman Music Library (School of Music Building).
- Camcorders, voice recorders, and other technology to borrow.

Harold Schiffman Music Library Collections
The Harold Schiffman Music Library is located on the main level of the School of Music building (corner of W Market and McIver Streets) and supports the educational, research, and service goals of the University by providing music resources, information, and services required by students, faculty, staff and community members. The Harold Schiffman Music Library’s collection consists of sound recordings, video recordings, scores, books and serials about music. Faculty, staff, and students are welcome to come to the Harold Schiffman Music Library to listen to and view sound and video materials and to checkout books and scores.
