One of the largest improvements being made to the Main Library as part of renovation efforts is the addition of study rooms. Before the renovation began, the rooms had combined capacity for approximately 250 students. Once the renovation is complete, there will be 51 study rooms in the building, with space for a total of nearly 500 students in these rooms! There will also be an increased amount of non-reservable study space on each floor, and users will be welcome to use these areas on a first-come, first-served basis. The new study rooms will feature glass whiteboards for patron use. Each one will be reservable online for convenience. The rooms will also be larger than the previous spaces, allowing for increased capacity and surface area for groups to work together. Overall, the new group study rooms will be larger, easier to find, and distributed more evenly throughout the library for optimized use.
