I also found a great group of friends that I can talk to for support when I need it. The support from my supervisors has also been very helpful during my time here as well. And it’s helped me learn skills that I can use in the real world such as reading both Dewey Decimal and Library of Congress call numbers.
Tell us about your proudest achievements at UNCG: My proudest achievement … I think the biggest thing for me was last semester when I had to write a 20 page research paper for my Capstone project for HIS 411. I did my paper on how John Philip Sousa’s music was an embodiment of the Civil War/Reconstruction era and the symbolism pertaining to it as well. It was a passion project I was happy to do, especially since it was on a composer who embodied the spirit of America through his music. Even with all the research challenges such as figuring out the meaning behind his music and mental struggles I faced, it was all worth it in the end.
What is next for you?
