Petition #20883116

Abstract

Antoine Lacour, a free man of color, charges that Valery Landry shot his two horses, killing one and disabling the other. He represents that, since his horses were "employed and occupied" in the operation of his cotton gin, he is now deprived of his ability to gather his cotton and is therefore entitled to $500 in damages.

Result: Partially granted.
