Petition #20781003

Abstract

Daniel Nicholson petitions to settle accounts with Samuel Luckett, for whom he worked as overseer. According to their agreement, Nicholson was to supervise Luckett's "hands," working on fifty-five acres of land. In exchange, Luckett would provide for Nicholson's family and give him one-fifth of the crop. Luckett did neither, but instead sued Nicholson for payment of a note Luckett obtained from Nicholson when he "contrived to make your Orator drunk." Nicholson asks that Luckett be restrained from enforcing the judgment and that he be compelled to "account with your Orator on the Matters aforesaid."

Result: Dismissed.
