Abstract
Jesse C. Williams hired out a slave "Boy Bill," a shoemaker by trade, to John L. Anderson for the year 1861. Williams claims that Anderson neglected Bill, subjected him to extreme heat and cold, and that Bill became ill. Bill received no medical attention and died from this illness. Williams claims damages of $2,000 and he asks that Anderson appear in court to answer to these complaints.
Result: Denied.
