Petition #11682104

Abstract

The administrators and administratrix of the estate of John Welch ask to sell Henry, a "likely and valuable negroe" who was in the habit of running away. Henry is obstinate, perverse, and unruly; he has made repeated attempts to escape to Ohio, and he possesses "high notions of liberty." He could not be hired out profitably, and he might be entirely lost to the estate.

Result: Bill drawn.
