Abstract
In 1806, Thomas Gantt mortgaged slaves and other property to John Duvall as security for a loan of £913.5.7. Duvall now charges that the debt is past due and the slaves have been sold by Thomas Gantt to John Gantt, leaving Duvall "without remedy." He asks the court to subpoena the Gantts and to order them to answer his complaint and repay the loan.
