Walter Clagett asks the court to "decree a foreclosure of the mortgaged property" of Stephen Lee. In debt to Clagett for £184, Lee executed a deed of mortgage to the petitioner, transferring to him, "sundry negroes & other property." Clagett reports that "the day of payment has long since elapsed" and Lee has refused the petitioner's "repeated solicitations" for payment. Clagett prays that the court foreclose upon the property and he be granted "further & other relief as may be consistent with equity and the justice of his case."
