Daniel Flud prays for permission to sell "a Plantation containing about fourteen hundred acres & Situate on Johns Island." The property is part of a trust estate brought to the marriage by his wife, the former Elizabeth Stanyerne Mathews. The petitioner reports that he is "possessed of other Lands more valuable, and not Negroes enough to cultivate them." He proposes that the proceeds from the sale be invested in "the purchase of Negroes."
