Scanning

Document scanners are available in the Jackson and Harold Schiffman Music libraries. Microform scanners are available in the Jackson Library Reference Room. Scanning is free and available to everyone. Scans can be made in color or black and white.

Document scans can be emailed directly from the scanners, or saved to a USB thumb drive. Please make sure that your email provider supports large attachments, and that you have enough inbox space. Also make sure that USB drives have sufficient storage, and are formatted for Windows.

For Microform scans, guests will need to ask for assistance at the Reference Desk with logging into the microforms print stations, printing, and paying for print jobs. Guest printing costs $.10 per side of page. Print jobs are released by Reference Desk staff at the Library Guest printer.

Please note that the Reference Room is closed on Saturdays during the Fall 2024 semester. 

Photocopying

Black and white photocopiers are available in both the Jackson and Harold Schiffman Music libraries. Paper sizes and costs are as follows:

  • Letter and Legal: $0.10 per side of page
  • Tabloid: $0.20 per side of page.  

UNCG students, faculty, and staff must have money stored on their SpartanCard as SpartanCash to pay for printing. Visit SpartanCard Online to add SpartanCash with a credit or debit card. Visit the SpartanCard Center located in the lower level of Moran Commons to add SpartanCash using cash when it is open.

Guests can purchase Guest Cards at the Jackson Library Checkout Desk. Cards are valued at and cost $1 each. Guests may purchase as many cards as needed to complete their print jobs, or they may add SpartanCash to a Guest Card using a credit or debit card or with cash at the SpartanCard Center  located in the lower level of Moran Commons when it is open. 

Faxing Services

Faxing services are ONLY available in the Spartan Mail Center during their operating hours.
