While the renovation of Jackson Library continues, we’re getting lots of questions from students, faculty, and staff about new and improved features that they can look forward to in the finished building. Phase One (tower side renovation) is currently in progress. When the tower is completed, it will feature several student-focused wellness spaces, including a meditation room and a family study room suite. There will also be a new entrance located right next to Walker Circle, and a new overlook that we’re calling “The Perch.” The tower of Jackson Library was added in 1973, so it’s been 52 years since the building has had any major upgrades – the renovation is overdue, to say the least! The tower will also be brought up to ADA compliance standards and will receive vital life safety upgrades, including sprinklers throughout the floors. And, of course, the print collection will return!
We have an FAQ page which provides more information. Campus library users can also feel free to reach out with questions using the information provided on our main renovation webpage.
We can’t wait to share more updates with you very soon!
