I've chosen Carmen de Lavellade and Geoffry Holder as they both represent the passion for art and dance that helps keep me focused on my own goals as an artist and educator. Carmen de Lavellade was the childhood friend of Alvin Ailey and a great part of the development of his dance company which I had the honor of performing in as a professional. Geoffrey Holder is the quintessential Renaissance Man--with diverse talents and an ability to succeed in many areas. I continue to be inspired by his greatness. I hope that this documentary will provide an inspiration to any young artist regardless of background or discipline within the arts.
