Asimov On Numbers
by Isaac Asimov

I first ran across this book in the library while doing research on my Master’s thesis. Asimov on Numbers had nothing to do with my research, but I stood in the stacks reading it for about an hour. I finally checked it out without getting the original reference that had brought me to the library. I could not put it down at home. Asimov’s joy with mathematical concepts jumps out of each chapter. If more people got introduced to math (or statistics and measurement) through books like this one, I think I would run into fewer students who feel compelled to explain that they are not "a math person.”
