Pedagogy of the Oppressed by Paulo Freire

While there are a handful of books that have had a lasting influence on my life, this book had the greatest impact related to my academic work at UNCG. Freire's ideas serve as the foundation of the much of the academic dialogue I have with students and are a significant source of any influence I may have had in changing the way students perceive the world and think about themselves and society. My observation is that students are fundamentally changed in the ways they think about freedom and love of one another, and how that plays out in a society, as a result of Freire's ideas.
