Tours Offered

We offer several tours suitable for classes, student organizations, alumni, and civic and social groups. Guided tours include the “History of UNCG Walking Tour," which is a 50-minute historic campus walking tour. The tour covers just over one kilometer or one-half mile that includes stairs and some inclines. This tour focuses on the founding of the school, historical facts about campus buildings as well as the development of schools and programs. If poor weather occurs on the date and time selected for the walking tour, we have an indoor alternative. We can offer the 50-minute presentation “The History of UNCG” in the Hodges Reading Room.

Another popular guided tour focuses solely on the ghosts that allegedly haunt UNCG Auditorium, Mary Foust Residence Hall, Spencer Residence Hall, and the Alumni House. The Ghost Tour is a walking tour that covers less than one kilometer or less than half a mile and takes 30 minutes to complete.

Specialized tours focusing on specific collections and/or subject areas can also be arranged as needed.
