First Lady Eleanor Roosevelt spoke on campus. She visited the Woman's College on numerous other occasions during the 1930s, 40s, and 50s.

Walter Clinton Jackson's title of Dean of Administration was changed to Chancellor.

The Holstein dairy herd and the 250-acre farm located on Friendly Road in Guilford county were sold. During World War II, the farm used German prisoners of war for labor. However, at the end of the war, the farm suffered from labor shortages, making it difficult for the college to continue operating the facility.
