Martha Blakeney Hodges Special Collections and University Archives

Classes and Presentations Offered

Special Collections and University Archives Staff members engage students at multiple learning levels, supporting the learning outcomes for each class with instruction on archival research techniques and presentations centered upon our unique collections. Popular subjects of classes and presentations requested by Faculty include overviews of UNCG history and primary source and archival research methods. Additionally, we provide individualized instructional support for concept and special interest classes. We welcome the opportunity to creatively collaborate with faculty and are eager to develop presentations and instruction to enrich the student learning experience.

Who Can Schedule a Class

Any instructional staff and faculty associated with UNCG can schedule a class or presentation with Special Collections and University Archives. Additionally, we offer presentations to non-teaching staff, faculty, and student organizations upon request.

Our department invites civic and social groups to enquire about guided tours, presentations, and preservation workshops. Please contact the Special Collections and University Archives at scua@uncg.edu or 336.334.5246.

Scheduling a Class Visit

Instruction is offered within SCUA's public service hours, between 9am and 4pm. Requests for classes outside of those hours will be considered on a case-by-case basis, depending on the availability of SCUA personnel.
