Applications are now open for the 2026-2027 Hodges Fellowship Program. See details below. Deadline for application is Friday, March 6 at 5pm EST.

About The Fellowship Program

Sponsored by the Martha Blakeney Hodges Special Collections and University Archives, this program seeks to provide undergraduate and graduate students at UNC Greensboro with a hands-on learning opportunity in archives and academic librarianship. The Hodges Fellowship Program is a 9-month (August through April), paid learning opportunity. Each student will be provided a stipend of $3000 per semester ($6000 per year). An additional $300 per student will be allocated for professional conference registration or other expenses related to the completion and dissemination of their final project. Hodges Fellows will build invaluable skills under close mentorship and training from our archivists in a transformative, unique experience unlike any other available on campus.

Who Can Apply?

The Martha Blakeney Hodges Fellowship Program is open to UNCG undergraduate and graduate students in any academic discipline. Students must be enrolled for both the Fall 2026 and Spring 2027 academic semesters in order to apply. Incoming students who will begin their studies in Fall 2026 may apply. Prior work experience in a library or archives is not required, although students with a demonstrated interest in a library, archives, or public history career are preferred.
