In addition to Interlibrary Loan, the University Libraries offers the following delivery services:

The University Libraries will deliver – via campus mail – materials from the circulating collections in Jackson, Schiffman and Storage to the main departmental campus offices of UNCG faculty and staff. Most materials will be checked out to the library account of the borrower and delivered or shipped within three working days of the request; storage requests may take longer. By placing a Campus Book Delivery request, the borrower accepts responsibility for books once they leave the library.

To request Campus Delivery, follow the instructions on the Requesting Library Materials: Pull and Pick Service page.

The University Libraries will scan and deliver electronically to UNCG students, faculty, and staff selected chapters or pages from UNCG library materials housed in the Jackson and Schiffman libraries and in our storage facility for the purposes of private study, personal reading, research, scholarship, or education.

  • Individuals may request up to 3 chapters or 100 pages from our print collections, including course reserves, and up to 25 pages from our microforms collections per day.
  • Most requests will be filled within 3 business days; requests for storage materials may take longer.
  • Title 17 U.S. Code Copyright guidelines will be applied. The Library will not provide scans if it judges that the nature, scope, or extent of the material is beyond the reasonable limits of fair use.

To request Document Delivery, use your UNCG computing credentials to log into the Interlibrary Loan request system and fill out a Request a Document Delivery form. Complete the form by minimally providing the title of the source, year, inclusive pages, and article or chapter title. Tell us in the “notes” box if OCR scans are needed.

Please check the Streaming Media LibGuide for information access on the 1000s of films available to stream and information on Public Performance Rights.

  • Book DVDs for classroom use on specific days.
  • Have DVDs delivered for classroom use – via campus mail – to their department’s office.

Details:

  • To avoid conflicts and delays, booking and purchase requests should be made several weeks or months in advance of desired use dates.
  • The loan period is 7 day.
  • The library does not pick up films for return.
  • If you want students to view DVDs outside of the classroom, please place them on Reserve.
  • To request that we purchase films, please use the Book Purchase Request Form.

Additional information can be found on the Multimedia Services page, by emailing [email protected] or contacting Amy Smith (Monday – Friday 8 am – 4 pm) at 336.256.1199.

This service is temporarily expanded to any UNCG student living off-campus who cannot come to campus to pick up their materials.

The Libraries will ship materials borrowed via Interlibrary Loan and books and DVDs from our circulating collections in Jackson, Schiffman and Storage free of charge to UNCG students enrolled in distance education programs who live outside of Guilford County. Patrons can request a free digital UPS return label via email when they are ready to return their materials.

For items located in the Teaching Resources Center, please contact [email protected] instead of placing an ILLiad request. Check out the Distance & Online Learning Guide for more information.

To request that materials borrowed via ILL be shipped, tell us in the “notes” box that you want the materials shipped and be sure that your current shipping address is listed in your Interlibrary Loan account. To view and edit it, choose Personal Information under the Tools section.

To request that library-owned materials be shipped, follow the instructions on the Requesting Library Materials: Pull and Pick Service page.

When you are ready to return materials, please see the “Request an electronic prepaid UPS return shipping label” section on our Returning Library Materials page. If there are any issues with the prepaid return label, please contact [email protected] to obtain a new one.
