William Bowden avers that Archibald Tarpley owes him $300 for his services as overseer, whereby he managed "the hands and plantation" of the said Tarpley. Bowden was the overseer from 1 January 1850 until 17 April 1850 when he was dismissed "without Cause or provocation."
