Sidney S. Alderman petitions for a change of venue in the case involving his appointment as "master" to Henry Reed, a free person of color who wishes to become a slave. Alderman states "that your Honor is disqualified from presiding in said cause by reason of having been of counsel for petitioner in said case." He therefore asks the court "to grant an order transfering the same to the Circuit Court of Leon County in the Middle Judicial Court in said State of Florida."
