Wayne Clark, administrator of the estate of John H. Thompson, represents "that there are a number of Negroes, belonging to said Estate, and have heretofore been hired out from year to year." Clark declares, however, "because of the precariousness of the times, and the great danger of losing Negro property through Black Republican Raids & Robberies," that he "is very desirous of reducing his share of said negroes to absolute possession." The petitioner therefore prays that an order be granted "authorizing said distribution to be made" of “said negroes among the rightful legatees of said deceased."
