Bennett to retrieve Robert Harris, a fugitive charged with kidnapping, Robert Ritchie went to Chestertown, Maryland, secured Harris, and brought him back to the town of New Castle. Attesting that the journey was "attended with loss of time, considerable expense, and great hazard," Ritchie asks to be compensated.
