Called to testify as a witness in the Prince Edward County case involving William Nealy--accused of having stolen and offered for sale a "Negro Boy"--Nathaniel Harris failed to appear. It was due to the shortness of the notice and inclement weather, Harris said. He was fined, paid his fine, and now asks to be reimbursed.
