Abstract

Samuel McCulluck states that he fought in the War for Texas Independence and was severely wounded in his right shoulder at the battle of Goliad in 1835, "which has disabled him for Life." "Being a free man of Colour," he therefore "humbly requests your honorable body to direct the proper authorities to give to him that head right he would be intitled to as a free citizen and also Such Bounty Lands as [they] may think him intitled for his services in the army."
