About 28 May 1862, Thompson Malone died intestate, leaving an estate consisting mainly of land, slaves, and debts owed to the deceased. Laura Malone and Joseph H. Malone, the widow and son of the deceased, say that the estate is probably worth twenty-five thousand dollars. They ask the court to appoint them administrators of Thompson Malone's estate.
