Abstract
David Murray seeks compensation for the slave Sandy, who was tried and convicted of the offense of "grievously beating a white man by the name of Philip Slagle" in December 1825; Sandy was "executed on the 30th of said month." The petitioner therefore prays "your Honorable body to allow him such compensation for the loss of his said slave as to your Honorable body may seem meet."
