Jenifer Taylor of Caroline County, Maryland, states that he recently became "seized and possessed" of Robert, "a negro lad" about nineteen or twenty years old, who was previously part of the estate of Jenifer Taylor, "late of Kent County and State of Delaware." He therefore "prays that the Legislature would pass a law authorizing and impowering your petitioner to remove and carry hence his said Negro slave Robert allias Bob ... from the State of Delaware into the State of Maryland and their hold and retain his said slave in the same way and manner as he has a right to do in the State of Delaware."
