Cathy DeRosa

"Thriving in the Amazoogle Environment"

We are pleased that Cathy DeRosa, Vice President for Marketing and Customer Services at OCLC, is coming to UNCG on Wednesday, April 20. During her visit, Ms. DeRosa will speak on the topic of Environmental Scanning in a lecture from 2-4 p.m. in the Kirkland Room of the Elliott University Center. Library faculty and staff are encouraged to attend, and will be joined by faculty and students of the LIS program.

DeRosa was named Vice President, Marketing, in November 2001. Prior to joining OCLC, she served on the faculty of the Fisher College of Business, Ohio State University, where she taught e-business marketing. From 1994 to 2000, she was Vice President and General Manager, Symix Systems, Columbus, Ohio. (In 2001, Symix changed its name to FrontStep.) From 1991 to 1993, she was Project Manager, International Pricing Task Force, National Semiconductor. From 1989 to 1990, she was a Senior Consultant with Price Waterhouse, serving technology companies in Boston, Massachusetts, and San Jose, California. She also has held management positions at Micro Card Technologies and Texas Instruments. DeRosa received a bachelors degree in accounting from the University of Arizona and a masters of business administration degree from the Harvard Business School.
