Dr. Jing Deng
Associate Professor, Computer Science
by Andrew S. Tanenbaum
This was the textbook of the first course I took as a graduate student at Cornell University. The book was such a great read. I almost read it as a novel and then I read it many times as the semester went on. It surprised me by its concise and sometimes humorous presentation of the computer network technologies. The more I read the book, the more I ventured into the field of computer/communication networks. As it turned out, the book became my guide to an academic career. I hope other readers would find similar experiences in this book.
