4 Concertos of Rachmaninoff performed by Rachmaninoff with the Philadelphia Orchestra

The reason I chose the Rachmaninoff performances of his own concertos is because throughout my tenure at UNCG I have devoted a large part of my work to the performances of his concertos. Indeed, I am the only piano faculty member in the School's history to have performed the monumental 3rd concerto with orchestra, as well as several performances of the 2nd concerto. To have the composer's own performances on CD is an invaluable treasure for our students and a rich resource regarding performance insights. This set will be a welcomed addition to the reserve list for a Graduate Seminar on Piano Concertos that I have taught numerous times.
