As UNCG enters the new millennium, it continues to receive national acclaim for its outstanding faculty, staff, students, alumni, and programs. Even in the relatively few years following the turn of the century, the University has already expanded and passed new milestones. In 2006, UNCG received the distinction of being classed as a major research institution with high research activity. The campus continues to expand and add new state-of-the-art facilities. Promises of collaboration with neighboring universities has attracted even more world class researchers and lecturers. While the developments that await in the new century are yet to be seen, one can be sure that The University of North Carolina at Greensboro will continue to have a positive impact on the growth and renown of Greensboro, the Triad, and North Carolina for years to come.
