Mission Statement and Goals

Mission

The Access Services Department connects University Libraries patrons with library collections, spaces, and technology. The department provides Circulation, Interlibrary Loan, Desktop Delivery, Digital Media Commons, Reserves, Instructional Films, and Technology services, as well as the Stacks and Remote Storage operations responsible for maintaining the library's book, periodical, and other media collections.

Goals

• Provide timely, quality customer service to all library users
• Ensure that library collections remain accessible to all library users
• Maintain a friendly, helpful, public contact point for all library users
• Work with University faculty to deliver quality course Reserve materials
• Provide Digital Media Commons services to UNCG students, faculty, and staff
• Maintain lending policies and practices that support the needs of all library users
• Assist library users with locating, borrowing, requesting, and returning library materials
• Provide library users with safe and inviting spaces for research, reflection, collaboration, and relaxation
