Full Text: Dear Hen:

Woke up at 3 am and haven't been able to go back to sleep. Read yesterdays press and still not sleepy what I need is a good fishing trip or something to relax me.

The major appointed a committee of light nurses to meet with the Commanding Officer of the Hospital to-day and a friend of mine on the committee said they really told him every thing so we shall see. A number of the nurses have already gone and cancelled their Defense bonds and I really intend doing the same if we have to pay the $45 per month. If we would get better food OK but we won't and I didn't leave my home and husband to buy drapes and curtains for all the Army Camps in the U.S.A. I say any one thats [sic] been in the Army 32 years probably doesn't even know the First war is over, but I bet before this mess is settled she'll know the U.S. is at war now.

I got you a little birthday gift to-day will try and get it mailed so you will get it by July 6 and I hope you can use it. I didn't go swimming yesterday but went into town, left my bracelett [sic] at the Jewelers to have it made smaller cost $0.50. Will get it Sat. Have a date to go on a swimming party tomorrow nite [sic]. Maybe I'll get a beer or two, have only had the one bottle so far.

Its [sic] cooler sure wish it would stay this way -

bye love Jamie.
