My Dear Charlotte.
First of all Happy Birthday to you and many more of them. I should have written you long ago but have been so busy and when I come to my room, I'm pretty tired you see we work from 7 A.M. to 5:30 P.M. & that's a pretty long day for me.
Mother was going to send you a box Monday and I hope you will get it in time for your Birthday. We took a little drive Sunday eve & mailed one box to you.
I also want to thank you for the dollar you sent me and also the beautiful card on Father's Day.
Gee, that's one day I really rate. I got a swell belt from Bud, & summer tie and pair of socks from Babs, Mother said Babs went to Taylors & bought them by herself & she did right well. Mother gave me a pair of shorts and under shirt and a sport sweater. I guess it's a sweater. ha. ha.
Anyway I fared pretty well almost like a birthday.
We are all so glad the you are having such a wonderful time and I hope you continue to enjoy yourself.
You know you you’re young only once and you might as well make the best of it.
There was a lay off to-day, but I wasn't in it. None of know when we'll get it & don't care. I've been here now quite a while & I'm getting rather sick of the place, but as long as they want me I'll stay.
We have been having some weather lately & I hope we continue to have it. We had so much rain this spring & cold along with it, that it is going to take a lot of warm weather to make up for it.
Well Darling, take good care of yourself & don't forget to write home. One letter a week isn't going to do. ha.ha. Sure enjoying those pictures you send home. Keep it up.
Hope to find a letter at home from you when I get there Saturday.
Will close now & Lots of Love from your
Dad
