Full Text: Dearest Mother & Daddy,

Well, I’m still here, so here goes another letter. I had 2 letters from you all Sunday- one that Mother wrote the morning of the 23rd & one that Daddy wrote the same night after you came from seeing Louis off. Gee I wish I could have seen him. It makes me so happy to know that he is alright, & just having you all who have seen him to tell me how he looks means a lot. I want to see him so much. It’s been almost a year now, & so much has happened.

There’s not much news over here. The war is over & I guess Sept. 2nd is Officially V-J day. It’s a relief to know that the firing has ceased. Now all I want is to come home to my darling & you all & settle down to a normal happy married life. I know that is what Louis wants too.

I guess this is all for now. It will soon be time to go on duty. Will write again in a few days.

Lots of love, Annie Edith
