Full Text: Dearest Mother & Daddy,
Well, it is about 1:00 A.M. here & just the beginning of Mother’s Day over here. How I wish that it could be spent at home with you all. Of course it is still yesterday back there in the States. But I’ll be thinking of you Mother, & hoping I will be back with all of you by next year.
Just one more week of night duty to go, & I sure will be glad. It’s terrible trying to sleep in this heat during the day. In fact to-day, I slept only about 3 hours, & then I’m pretty busy at night & don’t catch any shut eye.
Well, Jay is on his way back to the States on rotation, & I’m sure going to miss him. We had quite a few enjoyable times together- seeing shows, swimming, etc. he says that he will write you as soon as he reaches the States, & then later on, if he can, pay you a visit. I would like for you all to meet him. He’s a very unusual person, & has such a different philosophy of life from anyone I ever met. I hope he can get to see you.
I would like for you to send me a bathing suit, preferably blue. I want a plain color, with a skirt, & right up to date. I guess it will take about size 38 or 40. My other one is getting pretty well worn, & you sure need a bathing suit over here. That’s one of the main pastimes- swimming.
Every day I keep hoping that I will have some word from Louis. I do hope that we will hear something soon.
So good-night now. Hope everything is alright at home.
Lots of love,
