Description: Group photo of the Women Marines Recruit Battalion Platoon 16-A, at Parris Island, South Carolina, 1954. The platoon was led by Staff Sergeant J. L. Shipman, Sergeant H. E. Manos, Sergeant N. L. Agnew, and Corporal J. K. Paulson, all pictured. All Women Marines pictured wear the service dress uniform and service cap. This is a racially integrated platoon. Dolores Hamrick is pictured third row from the top, third from the right.
