Description: Two U.S. Navy WAVES, including Janet M. Mead (left) walk down a street, likely in Seattle, ca. 1945. Mead wears a white service uniform and her companion is wearing a dress blue uniform; both have soft brimmed hats on, and the WAVES insignia is visible on their jacket lapels. A civilian and a navy sailor can be seen on the sidewalk behind them, in addition to several stores.
