Description: Carrie Gammel Radnik poses at the entrance of the mess hall of the 87th Station Hospital, in Doba Dura, New Guinea, in 1943. She wears a khaki shirt and slacks with drawstring ankles, a uniform probably only issued to nurses serving in the Pacific, and poses beside a sign identifying the building as the "New Guinea Delicacy House."
